RESPONSIBILITIES: This position would work with students and staff in grades 4-8. This position will work cooperatively with the current Math interventionist and classroom teachers to provide support for students that need math interventions that are not supporting them in the math block. This position will not only support students that are struggling but also those students that need enrichment and GT services. Meets with colleagues on a regular basis to collaborate on updating and revising the curriculum for students involved in the RtI process, and to assist students who need extra help in math. > Collaborates with grade-level math teams to identify standards-based learning objectives and develop clear, measurable, attainable, and rigorous performance goals for individual students to evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and learning patterns. > Analyzes and tracks existing student achievement data to determine specific gaps in learning based on specific strands in math standards. > Provide GT Services that encompass STEM, and critical thinking skills. While developing student leaders. > Assists teachers in identifying, selecting, and modifying instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds and learning styles. > Uses student performance data and student work to refine, update and tailor curriculum, instruction and assessment. > Delivers selected or intensive support to students who need help in math. > Maintains effective communication mechanisms with building instructional staff to establish school-based intervention curriculum selection procedures and funding. > Develops positive relationships with parents and communicates with parents for the purposes of recognizing growth and improvement. Experience Three years of teaching at elementary/middle school level preferred. Preferred: Special education experience License: DPI Mathematics (1400) or Regular Ed (1777), certification K-8 preferred.
