NEW SALARY:$48,000-51,000 The Richardson School is now accepting applications for a Special Education teacher position at our West Allis location! The Special Education Teacher provides education services to students with exceptional education knowledge and expertise. Works with Lead Teacher and/or Education Curriculum Coordinator in the daily program implementation and coordination. The Richardson School serves children with a range of intellectual disabilities, including those who are non-verbal. We serve children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, Asperger’s syndrome, pervasive developmental disorders, learning disabilities, neurological impairments, behavioral disorders, speech and language impairments, genetic disorders, seizure disorders and other neurological disabilities. Children with developmental disabilities, as well as multiple medical conditions, including sight or hearing impairments, are also carefully considered for services, depending on other diagnostic features. RESPONSIBILITIES To succeed in this role, you must understand the emotional and developmental disabilities of the people you serve. You will be trained to use proper interventions and approaches while helping Students with their daily needs. As a Special Education Teacher, you will: • Develop and implement overall classroom Behavior Management Plan • Aid Lead Teacher/ECC in development and implementation of IBP’s • Update progress and manage students’ IEP’s • Work direction and oversight to Instructional Aides working in their classroom REQUIREMENTS To be considered for this job, you must meet the following requirements. • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university • Be certified by the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in one of the following licenses: Cross-Categorical Special Education (1801), Intellectual Disabilities (1811), or Emotional Behavioral Disabilities (1830) • Experience working with emotionally disturbed or cognitively disabled individuals preferred We are an equal opportunity employer.
