Essential Duties Responsibilities:
• Assists the Vice President of Marketing & Communications in the planning process that formulates an annual marketing plan that outlines measurable goals and strategies that advance DSHA and drive increased engagement with prospective and current constituencies. Assumes responsibility for the following portions of this plan:
o Manages Advancement Department communications calendar and works with advancement staff to ensure processes and timelines are maintained appropriately.
o Development Marketing & Communications | Works with the Director of Volunteer Engagement & Special Events, Alumnae Director, and Director of Annual Giving to lead a communications and marketing plan for all non-fundraising special events, specifically Mother-Daughter, Father-Daughter, Grandparent Liturgy, Volunteer Dinner, Alumnae weekend, and other non-fundraising special events that may occur such as alumnae outreach or parent engagement parties. This position will work collaboratively with VP of Marketing & Communications and other relevant staff with the communications and marketing planning and execution of fund-raising events such as the PAA Golf Outing, DSHA Auction, and Dasher Day of Giving.
o Recruitment & Admissions Communications | Works collaboratively with the VP of Marketing & Communications, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid, and the Admissions & Marketing Assistant in planning and executing marketing efforts to the prospective family and student audience. This position will lead the marketing plan for DSHA Summer Cool.
o Serves as the primary first-editor for all recruitment and development eblast publications to ensure that content is in alignment with brand standards, school missions, and accurately proofread according to DSHA copy style. Will work with VP of Marketing & Communications to determine final deploy-ready content.
• Manages and leads social media team with a strategic annual plan to engage all key audiences: prospective students and parents, current students and families, alumnae, donors, and friends; platforms include but may not be limited to Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn. Works with Advancement Dept. staff to plan and execute recruitment and development initiatives on social media and works alongside of the Marketing & Development Writer to edit and coordinate school-based posts. Executes DSHA’s social media strategy and modifies the strategy based on trends and analytics with the goal of increasing engagement.
• Serves as the primary editor for the bi-weekly Parent eNews, overseeing the execution of the publication by the Marketing and Development Writer, seeking opportunities to consistently improve the visual appeal, open-rate metrics, and parent engagement for this primary communications platform.
• Leads and manages all Summer Cool Marketing and Communications, including:
o Serves as the primary project manager for the annual DSHA Summer Cool Brochure. This includes the production timeline, conception, content creation, and execution of the brochure. Reviews design by the Director of Graphic Design under the guidance of the VP of Marketing and Communications.
o Work alongside of the Summer Cool Administrator/Dean of Students, Summer Cool Coordinator, Athletic Director, and Theatre Producing Director to determine annual camps that will best engage the prospective family audience with a recruitment lens in mind. Write/edit descriptions for each camp.
o Create engaging content to communicate with families through weekly recruitment eblasts and through Active camp registration platform for registered families.
o Ensure all relevant information is captured in an engaging way in Summer Cool brochure and through ongoing digital communication
to families through weekly recruitment eblasts and through Thriva system for registered families.
• Creates and manages monthly website audit calendar and executes updates accordingly. Provides website training and support to other editors and approves their content as needed. Keeps website content current to meet the needs of all DSHA constituents (both public and internal audiences), with SEO in mind.
• Writes content as needed for The Word Magazine and the DSHA Annual Report.
• Assists with DSHA family tours and other Advancement and school events as needed.
• Staff and strengthen the Parent Ambassadors organization and work to focus the Parent Association so that more current parents are effectively enlisted in telling the DSHA story, referring families and students, identifying other relationships beneficial to furthering the high school’s mission.
