Full Time
The School District of Janesville is hiring an IT Infrastructure and Data Security Administrator. This is a full-time, full-year position. This position Is responsible for growing and maturing the District's data security practices, along with all aspects of network infrastructure and its functionality so that student and staff access to electronic resources Is highly secure, yet readily available. This work should reflect the triad of confidentiality, Integrity, and availability in a K-12 setting, with differentiated access based on staff role and function, as well as developmentally appropriate for all ages of students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned, 1. Manage all aspects of the District's IT security program, Including, but not limited to: security policies, access standards, and safety procedures. Responsibilities Include selection and delivery of end-point protection, multi-factor authentication, Internet filtering products and services, 2. Manage the District's network Infrastructure, Including, but not limited to: cabling, switch, wireless, and firewall infrastructures; security cameras/video storage and retrieval; unified communications systems, Including video conferencing, telephony, and IP paging. 3. Cloud-vendor management and the related data Integrity as It relates to data storage, retrieval, and disaster recovery, 4, Coordinate best security practice training for staff and students. 5. Provide Tier 3 technical support to other members of the IT staff. 6. Develop and maintain best-In-practice documentation for all areas of responsibility. 7. Provide analysis of metrics and data regularly. 8. other Duties as Assigned. Secondary Job Functions 1. Provide redundancy for, and act as backup to, the Network Administrator, whose primary focus Is on K-12 Apple/Google fleet management, JAMF/Google/Azure platforms, automating processes, and customer service/helpdesk. Additional I Job Functions 1. Responsible for Investigating and exploring Innovative Ideas and concepts as they are discovered or as they come to the market, Including related project management. 2. Partner with IT colleagues to build team morale, a sense of cohesiveness, while developing a level of deep trust. 3. Maintain personal and professional technology skills, as well as keep current with Industry trends. 4. Be pro-active within the IT Department regarding process Improvements and effectiveness, 5. Maintain a positive and professional image of the district at all times.
1. Associates degree in technology, security, or related field; equivalent years of work experience; or a combination of training and previous work experience. 2. Minimum of five years previous work experience with network infrastructure with a strong focus on network and data security. 3. Experience in K-12 schools preferred. 4. Experience in a technology service/helpdesk background preferred. 5. Experience developing communication plans and familiarity with change management. 6. Valid driver’s license. 7. Certification as a CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) preferred. 8. Certification as a CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) preferred. 9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
